On the morning of 1562 two French armies faced off on the plains to the west of Paris. The Royal Catholic army was facing an army of Huguenots. The Huguenot knights and reiters smashed the Catholics, but part of their army, drawn by the prospect of loot charged north to pillage. Meanwhile, the Catholics waited until the right moment, rallied their scattered forces, and launched a decisive counterattack, winning the battle. This work has six maps that show various phases of the battle.
