This work covers both the miltary history and its kings as Prussia grew into one of the most powerful powers of Europe. There is a fair amount of information on the early formation of Prussia, before 1325, and an intersting discussion of the growth of its army.  However, about half of the book is devoted to Frederick the Great and the War of the Austrian Succession.  Orders of battle have been added to support the battle maps of Frederick’s first battles.
