This work is like all the other works on the armies of the Napoleonic era.  It provides the structure of the army at the beginning of the period.  It provides the internal structure of the infantry, cavalry, and artillery formations down to the level of the number of colonels, captains, and drummers.  Diagrams are frequently provided that show where the various individuals stood when the company or squadron were in formation.  The work continues giving the evolution of the army, including when new units were formed, units were disbanded or destroyed or merged with other formations.  Uniform details are provided, but there are no color illustrations.
