This work was originally published by the Nazi Party in 1930. The SA funded itself by selling Sturmzigaretten (Storm Cigarettes) that contained collectable cards in each pack. This work discusses a few battles, from the German perspective, and provides 240 color illustrations of Prussian, Bavarian, Saxon, Wurttemberg, Hanoverian, Brunswick, Hesse-Kassel, the Palatinate, Hesse-Darmstadt, Baden, the Swabian Circle, the Rhine Circle, the Upper Rhine Circle, and the Hanseatic Cities that were prepared by the world renown military artist Herbert Knotel.
