This is a history of the military operations of the Massachusetts Colony along the coast up to Nova Scotia, under the command of Colonel Benjamin Church, the hero of Philip’s War.  This was fundamentally an amphibious war, with a small fleet taking land forces up into what is today Canada, landing them, and engaging the Indians and their French supporters.
