The Franco-Spanish Army, under the Prince de Conti, invaded Piedmont, pushing through the Alps and besieging two towns and fighting one battle with the army of the King of Piedmont and a small Austrian contingent. This is an obscure, but classical pre-Napoleonic campaign fought on the southern flank of the War of the Austrian Succession.
