Infantry Operaitons, which was prepared by Major General Matsushiro Ugaki, an infantry expert who served in Manchuria as well as the Chiba Infantry School. The second work, much larger than the first, was Japanese Night Combat.  It was prepared for the HQ, US Army Forces, Far East, and the 8th US Army, Military History Section, Japanese Research Section.  It was prepared by Lt. Colonel Kengoro Tanaka and Lt. Colonel Mastaka Ida, among others. In addition, various Immediate Reports, Lessons Learned Reports, and other documents prepared by the US Army as it fought its way through the Pacific have been integrated into these documents.
